Like all good poems this can be interpreted in many ways. One popular reading is that this is Frank O'Hara chiding Hollywood and telling them to just get it together. O'Hara is also gently satirizing our emotional investment in celebrities we’ve never met, while dignifying the worship we feel (or want to) for even our silliest idols.
