5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
In these lines, Moses is saying that if any man should have a reason to lack faith (interpreted by “wisdom”) then you should turn to God, as he can help you. However, verse 6 also says that you shall ask in full faith, with no conscious to it and no doubt, otherwise you’re as synonymous as a wave that’s in the ocean, who is blown and tossed by the wind.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
