Paraphrase:
If your breath had not replaced them,
Even in your arms, doubtless, I would have died.

Here is the turn in the poem.
He has lost all of these vital things, but at last he survives!
He lives because of her breath, but without it he would have died (even if he were in her arms!).
She breathed life into him.

The lines in the couplet parallel one another, having similar first “e” sounds followed by “thy” and finally, they rhyme. This makes the poem sound conclusive. Even without understanding the words, a listener would expect this to be the end of the poem: what a good use of form!
