Yéni ve lintë yuldar avánier

Sí man I yulma nin enquantuva?
An sí Tintallë Varda Oiolossëo

Sí man I yulma nin enquantuva?
An sí Tintallë Varda Oiolossëo

Genius Annotation
This poem, written by J.R.R. Tolkien in his constructed language Quenya, is published in The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring, and is also known as “Galadriel’s Lament”. It is the longest Quenya piece in The Lord of the Rings.
In the story, the Lady Galadriel sings it to the Fellowship as they are departing her forest kingdom of Lothlórien. Long ago, Galadriel used to live in Valinor, a blessed realm in the west, but now she cannot return. She is lamenting her sorrow while also hoping that one day, perhaps a member of the Fellowship will reach Valinor, even if she cannot.
