@SameOldShawn says we don’t have one for TV Genius. If so:

• Can we get one? (I don’t see why not…)
• Who would be up for posting? (Probably mods or staff only)
• what could our first 5 posts be, i mean we got the simpsons and game of thrones- something like that? What could you all suggest?

I can’t see this being anything other than a good idea, gets it out there further as this forum is probably more hidden than we’d like to think – not a shot at poetry, but a lot of people would likely see the poetry banner and bypass this if they’re not onto it – the more we can draw it to the public, the better I’d guess.

@Thom – good point, we probably lose a lot – because the poetry/tv audiences are split like the Wu venn diagram.

My biggest issue with really pushing TV/Movie Genius forward is the branding. Our options are

• separate into 2 brands: TV Genius and Movie Genius
• Script Genius
• Video Genius (don’t like this, doesn’t imply TV/Movie which is our focus)
• Entertainment Genius (could be a more broader focus)
• keep it as TV/Movie Genius

What else could it be? Or does TV/Movie Genius work? Does it not sound clunky?

Screen Genius ? Media Genius? TM Genius? I dunno, but not Entertainment or Script Genius.

Entertainment seems like the best out of all of those but Media also sounds like a good idea. The only problem with these names is that “music” (which we already have multiple geniuses for) could be considered part of both entertainment and media, but it’s not that big of a problem.

@IAmTaylorGang – that seems fine, music and sound are an obviously massive part of a movie anyway.

AV Genius sounds good but so does Media Genius.

@TomiFischer truuuuu, as much as TV/Movie fits, clunky is a pretty apt way of describing it, I’d definitely prefer it if it was one word if possible. Out of yours I’d say Entertainment is the way to go, if a broader focus was the aim, the only problem I have with that is that it could take away from what it is about if people start focusing on say – celebrity or something. I dunno, I’ve just noticed loads of people have thrown ideas in already, so I think we should be able to come up with something new.

I like Media Genius, but it’s a case similar to Entertainment, as it would broaden what the section is about considerably.

Once we accumulate enough material to split into TV and Movie that’s probably the best way to go, but for now it seems like we should keep them together and promote it as one Genius. I’ve been a fan of Script Genius for a while but that’s just my 2 cents.

what about Screen Genius? this is something a few of us (#teamchannels) have been tossing around…
