Explosions in the Sky

About Explosions in the Sky

Explosions in the Sky (sometimes abbreviated as EITS) is the name of an American post-rock band based in Texas. They formed their band in 1999 with the name Breaker Morant until changing their name to Explosions in the Sky on the same year. The band currently composes of Chris Hrasky on drums, Michael James on guitar, bass, and keyboards, Munaf Rayani on guitar and keyboards, and Mark Smith on guitar and synthesizer. These four members are the original members of EITS and their group hasn’t had any member changes (with the exception of musicians who help play their music live).

With their release of The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, Explosions in the Sky has gained major traction through all five songs, notably with Your Hand In Mine. They continued to popularize the post-rock genre in the 2000’s with other bands such as Caspian and 65daysofstatic.
