Bentley allegedly said “let him have it” to his 16 year old accomplice as the two were being pursued by police following an attempted burglary. The prosecution argued (successfully) that Bentley meant for his accomplice to fire his gun at the police; the defence argued he meant for the accomplice to hand the gun over.
