This bildungsroman-y section appears to owe a lot to the section of Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech in which she describes the values she shares with her husband (emphasis added):

And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.

Interestingly, where Obama highlights such qualities as being conjugally shared, Trump only talks about herself. Perhaps it’s because, as a Slovenian immigrant, she feels the need to impress her ‘Murican values onto a sea of baying GOPers, or maybe it’s a subtle hint that her husband does not in fact share them.

This kind of hate, the kind which drives people apart and corrodes society, is unfortunately par for the course for a News International stalwart like MacKenzie.

Previous highlights of his journalistic career include using The Sun to blame the Hillsborough disaster on Liverpool supporters, causing the club to boycott the paper to this day.

Weird to read this type of protection be extended; it was debated in 2012 in the UK, and the law stayed the same—which doesn’t offer any particular protection to homeowners.
