Rough, non-metrical English translation:

What has become of that smooth forehead,
That blonde hair, those arched eyebrows

These lines are quoted (albeit with modernized spelling) in J.M Coetzee’s 1999 novel Disgrace, as the protagonist and de facto narrator David Lurie reflects on his daughter’s aging.

It’s one of his many, extremely creepy, internal monologues.

An inkhorn is literally an inkwell (that you’d use to refill your quill in Shakespeare’s day) made out of an animal’s horn.

By extension, it came to be a pejorative term for scholars who’d pretentiously coin new terms in English by importing words directly from Ancient Greek or Latin to flex their learning.

The only line to be repeated in the freestyle, this probably refers to the life vests worn as one pursues an island boy lifestyle.

Flyysoulja & Kodiyakredd opt not to wear vests as they deliver this freestyle from a hot tub.

Released through Oxford, UK-based label Big Scary Monsters, Anthology compiles the three EPS Colour released (Color, when they were still called “Color”, 2005), Conversations (2006) and Over The Moon (2007) and the singles “Chutes” (2008) and “Unicorns” (2009).

From the Big Scary Monsters’s bandcamp page:

Colour were brilliant. End of. They unfortunately broke up in June 2009 and shortly afterwards we convinced them that the world needed their music, so as a parting gift they put together ‘Anthology’, a 13 track Colour discography. Set to be released via Big Scary Monsters in September to coincide with their farewell show in London, it’s simply a must have for all fans of independent UK music.

Whilst Steiner’s “Numbers” promo garners the most plaudits and has broken out of the wrestling culture into full-blown memedom, this effort hits harder and has more to unravel.

Steiner is ostensibly insulting the leader of the WCW faction, 14-time world heavyweight champion Ric Flair, in order to generate heat for his faction, the newly-reformed nWo (aka the “nWo 2000”, the latest and lamest attempt by WCW to reignite the huge flames of the original nWo from the mid-late 90s).

However, Steiner takes the opportunity to air some real-life grievances with WCW’s backstage politics in his own inimitable style. While we should always err towards thinking that anything recorded is staged, this is pretty close to a full-blown shoot, with Steiner receiving the (meagre) punishment of being suspended with pay from the taping of their second-tier show, Thunder.
