Chris expresses his love for Karrueche Tran again but goes as far as name dropping. The shoutout surprised many listeners since Karrueche and Chris were not on good terms.

An anonymous source reportedly told HollywoodLife.com that Karrueche was flattered by the “Say My Name”-inspired apology, but that she was not ready for reconciliation yet.

The man is such a charmer it’s scary. Kae’s doing her best to keep her guard up. She’s still hurt. Chris put her through the ringer, and she’s still not over all the pain.

This anthem about unplugging from the pressures of life celebrates the ways we connect with deeper truths and find inner peace.

The song has a powerful deep house feel balanced by the sound of finger-picked acoustic guitars.

Matt Simons explains what the song means to him:

“Catch & Release” is about the common shared struggle of the grind and how everyone’s got their own way of dealing with it. Some people will go for a run, or others will have a drink, etc. It’s whatever your way of releasing all the tension you build over the course of any given day.

The song gained popularity in 2016 with the Deepend remix.

“Freestyle 4” represents a libido-driven, intoxicated Kanye, who raps about the fast life and wilding out at fancy dinners. The title itself is representative of the communication he is having with his own mind. He describes being out of control, and throughout the verse he highlights his drug abuse, thus causing a distorted reality, much like the feedback of an amplifier.

The string sample from Goldfrapp’s “Human” adds a very thin harmony and is combined with the call and response of the verse and an instrumental “woop” sound. The “woop” sound is reminscent of the “woop” sound in “All of The Lights,” which producer Mike Dean also worked on.
