This belief is based upon the expectation that if I were an M.D. I’d develop some sort of a god-complex.

Examples from the past include:

• “What will [INSERT MOST RECENT EX-BOYFRIEND HERE] think when he learns I’ve died?”
• “Will my mom read my Gmail?”
• “What will the coroner think of my body?”

Earlier this year, on an emotional and very hot July 4th, I sat in my apartment all day with the A/C off (on purpose) and read the “Mood disorders” section of the DSM.
