Solange calls out the audacity of claiming power without putting in the work. Applied to the appropriation of Black culture, these lines describe people who want to reap the “cool” benefits of Black culture without protesting the oppressive forces that created these “cool” cultural expressions.

This phrase is also the title of a piece Solange published on her website Saint Heron that told of her experience with her family at a Kraftwerk show. She explains how her and her family’s presence was repeatedly questioned in a predominantly white space, and how often that kind of questioning occurs. The piece ends:

Steven Madden founded the company in Long Island in 1990 when he tarted selling shoes out of his trunk. Madden’s entanglement with the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont was dramatized in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street. The real Madden went to prison in 2002 for securities fraud. He was released in 2005 and his company quickly rebounded.

The recording speeds up with these lines, suggesting that the answer is a foregone conclusion and that the relationship does not have time. Frank is ultimately sexually attracted to this person and wants to know if they have time to have sex.

The idea that they have a limited amount of time—for sex or other activities—possibly implies that Frank knows that their relationship is coming to an imminent end.
