The poem touches on Lil Wayne’s disconnect in reference to the Emmett Till lyric that caused so much controversy, but it also contextualizes the persona of Lil Wayne, who is a character without worry or fear of death, so why would spitting this insult really touch him? If he has erased the human in himself, then he can be without regard for other humans.

I was raised Catholic in New Orleans, a predominately Catholic city, but was absent on the day of first confession before taking communion in 2nd grade. I’ve never been to confession.
