Jeff the Killer, Ben, and Sonic.Exe are all popular characters in stories on Creepy Pasta. The stories have different narratives, but share the element of a blurred line between reality and (terrifying) fiction. On Jeff the Killer’s Creepy Pasta Wiki page, it states an “excerpt from a local newspaper”:

OMINOUS UNKNOWN
KILLER IS STILL
AT LARGE.

The famous photo from May 1, 2011, sees President Obama, Vice President Biden, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and members of the national security team waiting for an update on the Navy SEALs mission against Osama bin Laden.

A Washington Post article on Clinton’s Hard Choices excerpt predicts that the book will target her role in the Bin Laden kill mission as a centerpiece in order to help her in her 2016 campaign:

Three years after the killing of Osama bin Laden, the military raid to hunt down the fugitive al-Qaeda leader stands out as the riskiest national security decision of the Obama administration. Clinton’s staunch backing for the raid now has the potential to become one of the most politically rewarding decisions of her tenure, making it little surprise that the episode is expected to be a centerpiece of her forthcoming memoir.

Even beyond the emancipation of America’s slaves, African American people in the U.S. were subjected to Jim Crow laws, laws of racial segregation enacted between 1876 and 1965. The African American person in the U.S. was free, yes, but still a second class citizen due to these laws.

Through the Civil Rights movement, which involved massive protest both “on the streets and in the courts”, these laws were able to be overturned – state-sponsored school segregation was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States in 1954 in Brown v. Board of Education, and the remaining Jim Crow laws were overruled by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Obama cites the Civil Rights Movement to show how Americans pushed for the ideal they were promised – an ideal that didn’t fit with their reality. Now, Americans must do the same.
