Henry VIII

The opening date of this play has been subject to much debate among Shakespeare scholars, but it was known under the title All Is True until its publication in the First Folio in 1623. The play takes in the machinations during the rule of Henry VIII, including the fall of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. The action culminates in the birth of the future Queen Elizabeth I, occasioning fulminations on her greatness. Likely Shakespeare collaborated with John Fletcher on this play.
