The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes

Less than two months after the last of the stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes appeared in its pages, the Strand magazine started serializing the stories in this collection. Notoriously, it ends with “The Adventure of the Final Problem,” Conan Doyle’s ultimately unsuccessful attempt to kill off his most famous character.
