12 Scottish Songs

One of Beethoven’s English-language works, this set of songs was not published in his lifetime. It contains his arrangements of folk songs, mostly from Scotland, though “Cease Your Funning” is from John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera. The authors include distinguished writers such as Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott, and Lord Byron.
