The good men project Lyrics

"The Good Men Project set out to start an international conversation about what it means to be a good man in the 21st century...[it] set out to collect men’s stories about the defining moments in men’s lives. What he discovered was that the connected idea between all the stories of the men that [they] talked to was that there was a moment when each man “woke up, looked in the mirror and said ‘I thought I knew what it meant to be a man. I thought I knew what it meant to be good. And I realize that I don’t know either.’”

The 'Good Men Project' is a "multi-faceted media company and an idea-based social platform" that focuses on the stories of what the modern day 'good man' is. The project was started by Tom Matlack in 2009, and explores the changes in contemporary masculinity. The goal of the project is to break down the current perception of men, to be a place where one can "learn and grow with a community of people of all genders, all races, and all sexual orientations who know that this is the time to be talking about what it means to be a man in the 21st Century. This is the time to take the definition of “manhood” and free it from an oppressive and outdated model."

While the project covers all, and every topic it mostly details stories of 'sex and relationships','dads and families', 'marriage', 'advice and confessions', 'sports', 'ethics', and 'the good life'.

Some of the top stories include 'Because Men Don't Fit into Molds', 'Mostly Straight, Most of the Time', and 'One Way to Stop Violence Against Women'. One article that stands out, which is linked from the Huffington Post to the website, is called 'Dear Daughter: I Hope You Have Awesome Sex'. It details a father's wish in that his daughter, in the abstract, has good, consensual sex because dictating your daughter's sex life isn't being a good father, it is setting a precedent that women must be pure, and defer to a man. It is a new definition of masculinity.
