Poe has finally discovered the source of the tapping. And it does nothing. It just sits and looks at him. The raven reflects Poe’s insecurities and lost love, and he is forced to confront it face to face, as it does nothing. The greatest source of horror in this Poe story is psychological, as Poe is faced with The Raven.
