A Cook they hadde with hem for the nones,
To boille the chiknes with the marybones,
Along the pilgrimage there was a Cook. The Cook was very skilled at his craft, doing what most cooks do, preparing the foods. Foods such as: chickens and “marybones”. Mary bones, also known as, “mary” was common in Medieval cooking because it helped thicken meals.
