From the first corse

from William Shakespeare – Hamlet Act 1 Scene 2 on Rap Genius

In today’s english ‘corse’ = ‘corpse.’ Ironically, considering the fratricide of which Claudius is guilty, the very first corpse was Abel, murdered by his brother Cain. Of course, at this point, we have been given no hint of Claudius’s murder of his brother, Hamlet’s father.
