Bradbury, Ray. Fahrenheit 451
One of the great dystopian novels. It made Ray Bradbury a literary superstar. The themes if this novel are timeless, and perfect for teenagers who are ready to question society.
It is ironic that this text is a Common Core exemplar, since it speaks out against some of the things that the CCSS has come to be known for, such as limiting the amount of fiction students will read in school. Not quite book burning, but there are parallels.
