The same they did Kobe and Michael Jackson
Kobe was accused of rape after a 2003 incident in which he claims to have had consensual sex with a white, female employee of a Colorado hotel. Charges were dropped after Bryant reached a private settlement with his accuser.
Jackson was dogged by accusations of child molestation throughout the latter half of his career. He was never convicted.
By juxtaposing the travails of these celebrities with the violence inflicted on poor blacks in Cincinnati, Common seems to be suggesting that black males are subject to targeting by the state, regardless of their prominence or success.
