One of the Tribe personalities
W&M is no longer the Tribe, but the Griffin. Like joining a teaching fellowship, or a “tribe” back like Jamestown colonizing. The phrase is not based on Fitzgerald or whatever, but is a quote from a college classmate I’d never met who told my best friend from high school that I was “one of the Yale personalities” when they played the name game during the beginning of their study abroad program in Beijing. I still have no idea what he meant.
