As it can be implied from this text, the first half of the twentieth century America was characterized by racism, brutality and ill-will towards specific racial groups. There was an intensified resistance against immigrants coming from Italy, Mexico, and China. Furthermore, this regime was known for internal riot within the United States between white Americans (which were considered to be from the master race) and African Americans.
