Everybody is always desiring already imagined things.
People want things that are pre-packaged and shiny and ready for them, and that includes thought and feeling. They want their emotions to be chewed up and processed on their behalf and then served to them in the form of popular art (i.e. pop music etc.).
The Knife are against this idea of dulling one’s own intelligence. In a recent piece in British broadsheet The Guardian they admitted that “we are taught all the time not to think”.
Think for yourself, don’t believe the hype.
