“Cracker” is probably the most well-known and commonly used “slur” against white-people, behind terms like “honky,” “white devil,” “pale face”, etc.
As is to be expected, the origins of the term “cracker” are debatable and complex, with theories about its derivation ranging from the cracking of whips used to discipline slaves to the cracking of corn eaten by lower class whites.
